PRESENTATION: viNGN Broadband Business & Technology Meeting

The Virgin Islands Next Generation, Inc. (viNGN)

The viNGN Broadband Business & Technology Meeting, was held on Monday, October 7, 2013 @ 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the University of the Virgin Islands Great Hall on the St. Croix campus and at the Administration & Conference Center, 1st Floor Conference Room on the St. Thomas campus (linked via video conference). viNGN has commenced connecting fiber to all Community Anchor Institutions (CAIs) beginning with those in Fredricksted and then continuing with those in St. Thomas.

The Virgin Islands Next Generation Network (viNGN) was established in 2010 as a public corporation; it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority. viNGN was funded primarily from an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant made by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) as part of a federal program to improve the broadband capacity in the United States, its territories, and the District of Columbia.
