viNGN staffers observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month by Wearing Pink

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and viNGN staff members in the St. Croix and St. Thomas/St. John districts chose Friday Oct. 18 to wear pink in “livication” to our loved ones who are either survivors or who have succumbed to this disease.

Program Manager Yvonne Fenton on St. Thomas spearheaded the effort with her St. Croix counterpart Program Manager Stennett Dariah, in hopes that everyone in the community consider early testing for early cures, research support, healthy lifestyles, and to celebrate every milestone on the way to the Cure.  On St. Croix, viNGN’s Janine McDonald and Alex Adams even created special pink ribbons for their crew to wear (Janine’s sister Jodie who is a survivor for 8 years and counting).

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, St. Croix American Cancer Society members organized a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event, “My Pink Bra – Life, Hope, Strength” (VI DAILY NEWS ARTICLE) on Saturday, October 12th – and on St. Thomas an event is slated for Sunday, October 27th (see link below).
