Children’s, Young Adult Rooms & Von Scholten Collection Open at Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library

Commissioner Alicia V. Barnes of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources is pleased to announce that the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums is scheduled to open the long awaited Children’s Room and the Young Adults area for library services at the Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library starting on Wednesday, November 27th from 9-5p.m. The library will be open on Friday, November 29th. “In spite of our challenges, there is great progress, and we are very pleased to offer the additional library services to the community,” said Commissioner Barnes.

The Von Scholten Collection will be opened by appointment only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9a.m-4:45p.m., excluding microfilm, microfiche access.

“Children and Young Adults can peruse several thousand wonderful books in a very comfortable and inviting environment at the new library,” said Ingrid Bough, Territorial Director of Libraries, Archives and Museums.” “A Children’s Candyland Christmas fun day will be announced in mid-December.”

A Grand Opening of the entire library is being planned and will be announced to the public in the very near future, along with new library hours.

The Charles Wesley Turnbull Regional Library is located at the northern end of Tutu Park Mall. Public access to the library is through the gated driveway entrance at the northeast corner of the Plaza Extra parking lot.
