Visit our Marine Education pages on the web!

Our Marine Education site pays tribute to the delicate ecosystem that embraces our islands (the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico) – the live coral reefs which offer food and shelter to undersea life; the mangroves and sea grasses; and the pristine waters that surround us. Like in many other parts of the world, the coral reefs here are endangered due to human activities and natural events.

The site contains important details about our fisheries and threats to our ocean environment. Parents and teachers will find great activities and information about coral reefs for children, including links to videos, activity books to download, and historical data courtesy of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). With these educational and fun pages, we hope to raise a greater awareness of the need for residents and visitors to respect and safeguard our coral reefs, for generations to come!
