Relationships require work and time. In order for us to take care of our relationships, or the people we are in relationships with, we first need to take care of ourselves. Relationships can be therapeutic, but they can also be unhealthy. That’s why, from time to time, when we are in an intimate relationship with someone, it’s important to check in with ourselves and ask:

Communication is a key part to building a healthy relationship. Communication means that you are able to share things about yourself and your feelings. It also means that you listen to what the other person shares. In doing so, you learn whether you both want and expect the same things–being on the same page is very important. read more
