About vingn

The Virgin Islands Next Generation Network (viNGN) was established in 2010 as a public corporation; it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority. viNGN was funded primarily from an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant made by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) as part of a federal program to improve the broadband capacity in the United States, its territories, and the District of Columbia. The program is called the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP). For more information regarding viNGN, call (340) 715-8581, or visit www.vingn.com.

  1. CAN I GET GED ONLINE?

Posted by VELMA BROWN | February 22, 2018, 1:35 pm
    • Good afternoon Velma Brown – Yes, you can prepare locally for the GED. Visit the Adult Education web page for GED services here: http://www.vide.vi/our-divisions/adult-education.html and then contact the Department of Education/Adult Education to register.

You can also access a free practice test for the GED. To actually take the test and be scored, you will need to locate a GED testing center.

To access the free practice test please visit https://www.gedtestingservice.com/educators/freepracticetest. There, you will find instructions in English and Spanish, as well as links to practice exams to be done on a computer. You will find Math, RLA (Reasoning through Language Arts), Social Studies and Science. There is a link to an Extended Response Scoring Guide, but that is for educators so you do not need to download it.

You do not need to have an account or pay for the free practice exam. It is recommended to work with the Adult Education version, for more guidance and tracking your progress to better ensure success for you. Visit this page for contact information and to find out when the next course will be scheduled – http://www.vide.vi/our-divisions/adult-education.html#contact-us

      We wish you the best!
