The Virgin Islands Next Generation Network (viNGN) is committed to helping the community through its daily philanthropic work. Ms. Anita Davis, a full-time viNGN outreach leader, is committed to educating Virgin Islanders on computer operations, security, and personal identifiable information protection (PII).
Ms. Davis educates Virgin Islanders via various forums to include the viNGN originated Public Computer Centers (PCCs), social media, newspapers, radio, etc.
To educate the public more on the PII subject, on September 10, 2016, Ms. Davis was the special guest on WUVI 1090 AM’s “Just Us”.
Throughout this “Just Us” episode, Ms. Davis emphasized the following overarching message, “We must invest to protect not only our children but ourselves, to safeguard our privacy, reputations and identities online.” Ms. Davis, a recent graduate of the Library Freedom Project‘s “Everything to Hide: A Toolkit for Protecting Patrons’ Digital Privacy“, offers in depth courses on PII in addition to other computer science related subjects.
