viNGN CEO Joins Rotary of St. Croix to Instill Leadership in Juanita Gardine EarlyAct Students

On Thursday, June 8, 2017 Juanita Gardine Elementary School EarlyAct Club members were in the spotlight as they shared all they learned about the history and culture of our Caribbean island neighbors and being strong future leaders at a special school assembly hosted by Rotary St. Croix.

The EarlyAct Club gathered for weekly lunch sessions to receive guidance and instruction from community Rotarians, including Dr. H. Mark McGibbon, President and CEO of the Virgin Islands Next Generation Network, Inc. (viNGN), who provided several training sessions. Each week, the students eagerly anticipated Dr. McGibbon’s engagements, just as he looked forward to meeting with them.

McGibbon holds two doctorates, two master’s degrees, 15 graduate certificates and is a Harvard University senior executive fellow, yet his enthusiasm for this particular batch of students is evident and returned tenfold: on the day of the closing ceremony, his students presented him with a plaque along with warm hugs and the firm and sure handshakes he had taught them to offer as leaders of the future.
