Ivanna Eudora Kean Senior Lennard “Lenny” Finley heads to UVI

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Thursday, May 24, 2018 the Virgin Islands Next Generation Network celebrated the professional growth of Ivanna Eudora Kean 12th grader Lennard “Lenny” Finley as he completed his 6 week Career Technical Education internship through Jobs for America’s Graduates (“JAG” for short). JAG is a national non-profit organization that has ushered over a million young people to exciting careers and opportunities.

He selected viNGN because he wanted to gain knowledge of fiber optics and information technology. He was also quite impressed with viNGN’s technological standard as the company was the first to swiftly mobilize to restore Internet services following hurricanes Irma and Maria. While he spent time in other departments to get a feel for the entire enterprise, Finley mainly reported to Celestino White, Jr. who was his supervisor in his acting capacity as Lead Field Technician.

Lenny provided energy and focus as he explored fiber optics installations and recovery, inside wiring and network design with our OSP and Network Ops teams; Mr. Finley has been an awesome pleasure to work with, and we wish him only the best as he pursues his dreams, beginning at the University of the Virgin Islands!
