FEMA video intro capture

FEMA U.S. Virgin Islands invited viNGN to be part of an education outreach initiative for  senior and disability facilities on St. Thomas and St. John to educate these communities on the natural disasters the Virgin Islands are more prone to (hurricanes, floods and earthquakes and tsunamis ), and discuss alert systems and other forms of communication.

viNGN has shared its role in the community as a middle-mile telecommunications provider, free public Wi-Fi and digital inclusion advocacy, including  accessibility options available on different computer operating systems and devices such as smartphones, tablets and Chromebooks.

FEMA has provided an informative video, “Preparing Makes Sense for People with Disabilities and Other Access and Functional Needs” to encourage everyone to be proactive for all types of emergencies. For more information on improving readiness for your home, family, seniors and pets plus links to sign up for alert systems, visit viNGN’s Disaster Preparedness page.
