viNGN was featured in the article “Siamo la Silicon Island” (We are Silicon Island), in “la Lettura” a special section added to the Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 edition of venerable Italian publication il Corriere della Sera, a popular Italian daily founded in 1876.

In summary, author Federica Colonna focuses on a study commissioned by Gov. Kenneth E. Mapp regarding the milestones achieved by the University of the Virgin Islands’ Research & Technology Park initiative from 2006-2016, impact and enrichment opportunities for citizens of the territory.

St. Croix Economic Development Initiative Executive Director Anthony Weeks believes the U.S. Virgin Islands can evolve towards financial, e-commerce and information communications technology fields to diversify and be more than simply a “sun-and-fun” destination.

viNGN CEO Dr. Mark McGibbon highlights the progress made in the territory’s telecommunications in spite of the ongoing recovery from the historic 2 Category 5 Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. High-speed Internet services have never been more available to U.S. Virgin Islanders, with both market variety and value making connectivity more accessible.
