CAN Academy to Launch Workforce Development Certification Courses on St. Thomas June 24

The Community Action Now! Academy (CANAcademy) USVI is set to launch a series of Workforce Development courses through the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL). Registration ends June 8th, and classes will begin June 24th. Contact your VIDOL representative to register, (340) 776-3700:

  • Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) – 8 weeks
    • Includes Microsoft Specialist Certification and CAP Certification
  • Certified Bookkeeping Professional (CB) – 12 weeks
    • Includes Quickbooks and the Certified Bookkeeping Certification
  • Entrepreneurship and Small Business Certification (ESB) – 5 weeks
    • Prepares business owners to start and expand their small businesses

Workforce180 encourages USVI businesses to participate in national hiring assistance program “Restoring Futures”

U.S. Virgin Islands businesses seeking to train and hire new or returning employees displaced due to the 2017 hurricanes Irma and Maria are being encouraged to participate in “Restoring Futures“. This program is funded by a $4,997,845 National Dislocated Worker Grant awarded to ICF for the U.S. Virgin Islands, by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration. Workforce180 is coordinating locally, in partnership with MedCerts, the Virgin Islands Department of Labor, and the USVI Economic Development Authority.
