The University of the Virgin Islands, NEARix, EPSCoR, UVI RT Park and UVIdea will host its 2017 edition of UVI HackFest on both campuses November 17-18, 2017 with a twist. The theme will be “Disaster Hack”, inviting students to create apps we wish we had before, during and after the hurricanes. The focus is on proactively identifying and addressing problems while generating solutions in service to the community at large. Continue reading

Public schools throughout the territory are set to benefit from the awarding of close to $35,000 in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) grants by the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI)! Educators were required to submit proposals that would enhance students’ learning and grow their talents through projects that offered hands-on experience in a wide array of disciplines, including robotics, cyber security, computer programming, and integrating STEM with the arts.
